How was Julius Caesar and the Senators realtionship? How did it end?

Julius Caesar was a very powerful man until he was murdered. To Start off with, the Senators were known to be retired Patricians and Plebeians, who favored the patricians. Julius Caesar was known to be a great general and political leader. Soon, into becoming well known he became a consul. Also, later on in his life he was known to be a great political leader, but he needed some victories so that he could be known as a Military leader, which he got. Next, the people of the lower class knew Caesar as a Military Hero, but the senators thought otherwise. The senators believed that Julius was going to become king, and law states that if any man is thought to try to become a king they could be put to death without trial. So one day, the Senators decided to invite Julius Caesar to the house of the Senators, and he had no idea what was coming. That day Julius Caesar was killed, he was stabbed to death by Brutuss and Casius. So as you can see the senators and Julius Caesar didn't have a good relationship due to Julius' power.
